9/9 영어전화 피드백 정리

안녕하세요 🙂 오늘도 영어전화 수업에서 받은 피드백을 정리해보려고 합니다. 짧은 문장들이지만 조금만 표현을 바꾸면 훨씬 자연스럽게 들린다는 걸 다시 한 번 느낄 수 있었어요.

🍴 음식 관련 표현

It is harmony with spicy food.
→ It goes well with spicy food.
→ It pairs nicely with spicy dishes.


매운 음식과 잘 어울린다고 말할 때 harmony 보다는 go well with 혹은 pair with 를 쓰는 게 더 자연스럽대요.

🛒 쇼핑 관련 표현

If I see something, I bought now.
→ If I see something, I’ll buy it right away.


즉시 사버린다는 의미는 현재 시제가 아니라 미래형으로 표현하는 게 맞는 문장이었어요.

It’s famous gift in Taiwan.
→ It’s a famous gift item in Taiwan.


gift만 쓰면 조금 어색하고 gift item이라고 해야 완전한 문장이 된다고 합니다.

🏠 일상 표현

I’m just relaxing at home.
→ 그대로 사용 가능! (자연스럽게 들린다고 칭찬받음)

I know a shop that sells lots of fresh fruit.
→ I am aware of a store that offers a variety of fresh fruit.


sell 대신 offer a variety of 라고 표현하면 조금 더 풍부한 느낌을 줄 수 있어요.

🛍️ 쇼핑몰 관련 표현

Everyone comes this mall in my area.
→ This shopping mall draws the highest number of visitors in my locality.


draws / locality 같은 단어를 쓰면 더 격식 있는 표현이 된다고 하네요.

👕 옷 구매 표현

I wanna decide to buy man-to-man, not a sweatshirt.
→ I decided to buy a man-to-man, not a sweatshirt.
→ Hanna chose to purchase a man-to-man instead of a sweatshirt.


decide와 want to를 동시에 쓰는 건 어색하고, decided to 혹은 chose to가 올바른 표현이래요.

🪟 쇼핑 취향

I actually dislike window shopping.
→ I genuinely do not enjoy window shopping.


dislike도 맞지만, 조금 더 부드럽게 do not enjoy라고 말하는 게 자연스럽습니다.
